牟岐沖の出羽島は連絡船で渡れる離島ですが、カヤック漕いで渡れるちょうど良い距離です。
周辺の海岸にはごろた石の浜があり、透明度抜群で綺麗な海岸ではシュノーケリングを楽しめます。小さな集落は独特の造りの家屋が密集していて、離島ならではの風情があります。
島を一周する周回路や展望台への遊歩道は一見の価値有りです。
