城端は、世界遺産合掌集落「五箇山」の麓の町。加賀藩の庇護の下、絹織物で栄え今でも往時の面影を残しています。ユネスコ無形文化遺産「城端曳山祭」に触れ、人と町に出会えます。

【２時間コースの行程】
城端駅⇒街歩き⇒善徳寺山門前⇒坡場の坂（旧五箇山街道～絹の道）⇒城端曳山会館⇒小路めぐり・和菓子店立寄り⇒城端駅

城端別院「善徳寺」の門前町として開かれた町。

越中の小京都「城端」を楽しむ２時間の旅です。

ユネスコ無形文化遺産「城端曳山祭」

★南砺市伝統芸能会館「じょうはな座」で、「庵（いおり）唄」と「むぎや踊り」が楽しめます。
　４月～１１月第二・第四土曜日：午後２時～午後３時実施
春の国重要無形民俗文化財「城端曳山祭」で奏でられる庵唄と秋の「城端むぎや祭」で踊り唄われる麦屋節を鑑賞できます。
鑑賞料：１，０００円が別途必要です。

絹織物で栄えた町の面影を楽しむ

天正５年（１５７７）頃から始まったとされる城端の絹織物。作家・柳田國男の紀行文にも「城端は機（はた）の声の町なり」と書かれるほど、最盛期には町のあちらこちらから機織りの音が聞こえたといわれています。大通りから小路へ入っていくと、かつては絹を扱うお店が数多く建ち並んでいた坡場の坂や、渡り廊下のある絹織工場などがあります。
