天台宗寺院の多い国東で、無著妙融禅師によって創建された禅宗寺院である泉福寺は、曹洞宗九州総本山の寺院。
ここでは禅寺として本格的な坐禅を体験することができます。
2018年に開山して1300年を迎えた国東半島 六郷満山文化。
歴史を感じる由緒あるお寺での、本格的な坐禅体験ができます。
泉福寺のご住職 最勝さんが丁寧にご指導くださいます。
無著妙融禅師によって創建された禅宗寺院である泉福寺は、曹洞宗九州総本山の寺院。最盛期には曹洞宗の修行道場としての役割を果たしていましたが、戦国期には他の六郷満山寺院同様、兵火を避けられずに仏殿と開山堂を残し、灰燼に帰してしまいます。
その後、中津城主等により山門などが再建され、寺運を盛り返して来たという歴史を持ちます。
